I found this forum and it looks like where one would say hi. I figured out how to add some text and a photo to my profile/home page so been playing with that. A little late to say it but Happy New Year to everyone.

I've been a knife enthusiast since I was a young boy. Always had a pocket knife on me since i was 10 and got a Swiss army knife for Christmas. Today, my EDC primary is a SOG Seal XR, secondary is a Spyderco Delica 4 half serrated, and my multi tool is a Leatherman surge.

It's very nice to be here, and I look forward to getting to know you all

My name is Vinnie (well actually Vincent lol but I was only ever called that when I was seriously in trouble as a kid)

I was born in Ireland but grew up in the Aussie bush, served in Viet Nam and when I left the Australian Regular Army I sort of was lost a bit and took up Pro Shooting for a few years.

When you make a living out of your tools (rifle and knife) you use the best and in those days Puma was the best knife and they weren't cheap, but I've skinned and dressed thousands of Roos and never was I disappointed with my Pumas

I have a lot of Puma Knives these days and I am sharing some of my collection here. Given that these days I only collect.

I thought this might be a good place to be as the site appears to be more collector oriented than that of the endless Blah Blah Blah about this steel and that steel and the drivel about how a given knife chops down trees, cuts everything known to mankind, opens cans and still amazingly still stays sharp.

Also I'm tiring of being told that classic Solingen Knives like Puma are old fashioned rubbish. "Get with the times, if it ain't a Spyderco, it ain't a knife"

Maybe I'm in the right place, I'll see.........

Hello. Newbie here. My dad loved edc’s and I got addicted as well. I collect based on feel and look, not necessarily on function tbh, Here are some of my faves. Some Kershaws, my dad’s Schrade w/original case and his Colonial ProV, a Gerber, a Böker Plus, a CRKT Graphite and a Fury 10590 (rare?). This is an awesome website and I’m glad to be accepted into it.…

Hi....I'm Gene Langston, just joined. I've collected knives for a long time...well, not really collected, just bought, used, and lost my share. The last knife I bought was a Puma White Hunter made in 1973, it was unsharpened and I sharpened it yesterday. Now it's really sharp.

Back ini 1964 or so, my mom gave me one just like it for Christmas. I think she paid $20 for it, which was a considerable amount of money for us, back then. I couldn't sharpen it because I didn't know how, and finally gave up on it. It ended up as a kitchen knife, then my sister got it for a kitchen knife. Her house burned down, and with it the knife. My brother found the blade in the ashes and took it home.

After my brother died in 86, his son sent the knife back to Puma. They rebuilt the knife, and in a harness test, found the temper was still there. They replaced the handle, polished it up, and sent it back to my nephew...the featured that knife in their professional journal, whatever that is.

Bottom line, I've been looking for one ever since, casually. Tuesday, I found a new one at a LGS at a price I thought was good...noa new one, made in 1973, still had the sticker on it, but without a sheath, which I ordered yesterday. So I'm back in 1964, but with a sharp knife.

Sorry if this has been a long and boring post. But I thought I'd get back a little to my youth.
New to iknifetag:iknifecollector.com,2018-12-06:3181080:Topic:15725602018-12-06T02:43:40.867ZRobert Wellshttps://iknifecollector.com/profile/RobertWells

Hey guys, new to the forums here, just discovered this one today. I am an avid collector, of many things, but most relevant here would be knives of course. I have a fixed blade fetish that replaced my previously extensive folder collection. I have had Emerson’s, Benchmades, Striders, Hinderers, Ansos, Munroes, just to name a few. I am a huge fan and collector of Lee Reeves axes and knives, Adventure Sworn, SWC, And many others. I enjoy the woods, “bushcrafting”, canoeing, camping,…
