Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Well, on my previous attempt at a review I deleted the whole thing by accident, while editing it. Maybe I can finish this one without any problems.

I'll start by saying it appears to be a sold knife. At first glance, it looks like a well made knife, but a closer inspection will reveal some cosmetic issues. On the bolsters they attempted to round off the corners. They were successful at doing this, but they didn't go back and polish it up afterwards. This makes the grind marks or areas noticeable. One of the back springs does not fit against the center divider and is longer than the other. The longest back spring actually stuck out past the end of where the knife rounds off. I thought this issue was preventing the blade from opening out straight. I worked on it with a small file and found the spring was not what was preventing it from opening out straight. The gap between the spring and center tapers off and they meet about the center. The other blade does open out straight and there is no issue with the back spring.

The blades were advertised as stainless steel. I believe they are 440A, and I have base my assessment of them on that. They were sharp when upon arrival but could have been much sharper. I worked on them and improved it before using. Tuesday night I took it to work and had a good opportunity to test it for edge retention.

I work in the weaving department of a textile mill, where we manufacture seamless belts from monofilaments. Monofilaments will dull a knife fast. That night I was tasked with scraping a piece of trial material. The monofilaments were 0.50 mm low stretch polyester woven at 36 per inch. If you total up the cuts, I made a 135 1/2 feet cut. I cut a wide fabric into small strips that could be handled easily. By time I finished the cut, it was obvious the knife had dulled, but it wasn't completely dull. It was still usable. In comparison, my Benchmade in 154cm would not have shown any wear. Now to be honest, I did not have the edge exactly the way I like it. I simply improved what it arrived with.

Due to the cosmetic issues, it would not be a good collectors knife, but that isn't why I purchased it. I ordered this knife to use while fishing and hunting small game, its intended purpose. In my opinion, it should perform well in this area. In my opinion, it's a good light to medium duty user knife.

This isn't as long as the review I deleted yesterday, but it covers everything. Thanks for reading.

Interesting review Stephen and thanks for giving us the information on the knife. Thanks for taking the time to do it again. If you ever get a chance pictures of what you describe on the knife are helpful too.

It sounds like you have a classic proving ground for knives. Now I understand why you want such a high rc!
