Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

At the recent Track Rock Hammer In Donnie and were privledged enough to see many makers bring their knives out of different steels.

One that was different from all the rest, stood out and the maker spent a good amount of time with us teaching about the different heat stages, molecules was Bloodroot Blades.

This company hand forges Eco friendly kitchen knives...just something you dont see on the market everyday.

Luke and David at Bloodroot have spent many hours with multitudes of chefs discussing to perfect the sizes, handle shapes, blade shapes, materials, hardness for different uses, edge styles.  Nothing has been left out of the research.  Just like you and I have pocket knife patterns that are favorites, the chefs are partial to particular knives and blades.

As an Eco Friendly knife making company ( a rarity in itself) most of the materials are recycled items..NO, not like the bags you get from Walmart LOL.

This recycle is natural materials and the process of making more modern materials from other recyclables.   It is what can be found locally and used, like the burlap micarta, the bags come from a local coffee shop!  What about that handmade kitchen knife for your mom, what if the handles were made out of a pair dads old jeans?  think that one is a favorite?  I am thinking of taking one of my grandmothers old table cloths that is too stained to use anymore but has a lot of good family history and memories for my mom and having that peice of linen made into a knife handle and the knife made for her for Christmas.

Antlers are local shed, hardwoods are recycled.  The take being earth friendly seriously and make thier knives on an anvil!

These hand forged Kitchen knives bring a quality not only to your kitchen but play a part in retaining the quality of our environment.

See their work here, read thier story.  It is an impressive and different knife story

great looking knives,i like the name also.

Very nice story and very nice knives. There is also some very nice looking young men, there. It sounds like they really want to do a great job making their knives. I cook a lot for my friends and family and the knife I use is shaped very much like the ones they have there. Good luck, Guys.

Wow!! I really like what they're doing and their knives look great. I can see one or two(maybe 5 or 6) of their knives making their way into my hands eventually.

Thanks Guys!  One of the things about going to these shows is I get to bring you stories like this one.  I will try this weekend to put a bit of the film up I shot of them forging.

I am with you Brad, I see a few of these in my future.  Knives dont stop at the pocket!

Hunters and Fisherman need kitchen knives too. They must prepare and cook all that Wildlife. I have never mentioned it before but when it's time to cook, I change knives from my Outdoorsman style knife to a more traditional kitchen knife. It to is Hammer Forged by ML Knives. My Dad use to say, "You might not Hunt everyday but you're gonna eat everyday"...LOL So a kitchen knife gets a lot of use and should be a good one.
