Be sure to read Clint Thompson's latest article in the October Issue of Knives Illustrated. It is called Best Option: Traditional or Tactical? he does a great job breaking down the options as they exist and he mentions this knife in particular. Pick it up and read the article if you can and leave a comment for Clint!

Also a great picture of iKC member Steve Williams, a career law enforcement official.

That is a great point Clint, take a look at the second indentation on the knife. The first secures it in the sheath the second is a good gripping point depending on your hold of the knife your thumb might just be placed there allowing for a very firm grasp.

Clint Thompson said:

I agree totally with you and Steve. For the money this is an excellent knife. The original Russell's handle is just not shaped in a way you can keep a good grip. The handle is too slick...too short and for a big handed person...too small. In my professional and personal opinion, the CRKT version has addressed those issues. Great knife and great idea Pat.

Thank you Sue! I did enjoy doing it and greatly enjoyed the knife. It is non traditional but with so many carry options it just might be that knife that lots of people will carry as their 2nd(or 3rd).

Sue OldsWidow said:
