Well I think there should. I'll describe what I'm talking about..

I recently emailed Spyderco suggesting some new ideas for the Tenacious. As every tactical knife collector should know, the Tenacious was a HUGE hit, everyone loved it..

Then, if I'm correct, William Cutting invented the ZipTie mod to make it a wave opener. So I thought, since this was such a hit, that SpyderCo should come out with a few Tenacious II's, one with an Emerson Wave design, like they did with the Delica and Endura.

So I emailed them suggesting that.. And I also had a second idea. I suggested to them since a lot of people bought this knife, they should make a version with a bit higher quality of blade steel, perhaps VG10 or S30V (the two I suggested to SpyderCo in my Email). Of course it would be a bit pricier, maybe about $30+ on its current price. (I bought my Tenacious for $30.91 off of www.yourcornerstore.com)

The Centofante III is made of VG10 and I paid $50 for that, so a retailed price tag on a Tenacious for $50 wouldn't be bad at all, neither would $60.

So I was wondering, besides myself, does anyone else support this idea?

Of course the Ziptie method is a cheaper way to go, but I think making a second version with the 'wave' would make it look a little more nice and original.

I think the more support there is on this subject, the closer SpyderCo will lean towards producing these knives..

I think you made some great suggestions that would improve the tenacious. Although, I think Spyderco made the tenacious the way they did to keep the cost down. Im sure it was such a big hit because of how much knife you get for the money. I think it would be nice to up the steel to VG10 but anything higher would be to pricey to be appealing. The wave would be a nice feature and I would definitely buy another if they added that.

Very good Ideas!!

I agree with Keeken... Good suggestions to improve the Tenacious. I wouldn't mind the tenacious having better blade steel and or the wave feature as long as they don't ruin the blade shape like they did with the wave delica and endura.
The tenacious is a legend in its own right. I think they should make a knife along the lines of the tenacious with some changes but i wouldn't call it a tenacious. To me there is only and can be only one true tenacious.
Well when I contacted SpyderCo, if I contacted the righ person, I jsut let them know about the mass useage of the Tenacious and the Ziptie tecnique.

I really just would like to see some better blade steel, if this is going to be an EDC that lots of people use, VG10 would make carrying it so much better.

In Jeff's review of the Tenacious he mentions that it's a good knife for $50, but since it's sold for $30, it's quite the bargain.

VG10 Tenacious sold at $50 wouldn't change anyones mind about the Tenacious in my opinion
Here is a good review of this blade.
I think the old line" give the people what they want" is still a fair statement. Spyderco in past history seems to follow the path of putting out variations of the successful/popular knives they make. I just bought a Spydie Sage today, and they are already stating a release date for June on the Titanium/integral lock version{sage2} . They are suggesting more versions after that are yet to come. The tenacious has done so well, why not bring out at least another version?
While I'm not a super fan of the wave feature (It is cool though) I think to keep the knife at the pricepoint it has been at should be the aim. Only 2 things that keeps me from buying one is I've heard of it accidentally opening, some improvement could be helpful there and my second reason is I just haven't been working as much as usual since I bought my first spyderco and loved it so I haven't really bought many knives.

However the tenacious is still high on my list to buy :)
that being said some steel improvement couldn't hurt as long as the price doesn't get to much higher....I think the price is what made it the hit it is.
The tenacious is good value for money but it isnt a $50 knife, its priced at about what its worth $30 -$35,
Nutnfancy, although I like nearly all of his reviews, got a bit carried away on this one, $20-$30 more for VG10, it will sell but I cant see the point, $60 = Endura4, I know what one I would get......

I Luurve my tenacious, but it is what it is...A cheap, slightly heavy EDC ,that you can beat upon, and if you loose it ,you won't have 3 days of official mourning and a state funeral, you just go and get another , and beat on that instead.
LOL 3 days of official mourning and a state funeral....Good stuff Ross :)
i love mine as is except one thing i cant get the pocket clip screws out! good ideas though any tips on switching the clip over?
I would like (just for cool factor) maybe a camo pattern on it or dif colored handles as well as maybe a higher quality steel.  I like the one I got but I would love to carry it even more if it was a little different from all the rest.
