I just don't know if I should switch out my 707 edc for a 51 edc. I love balisongs and would definitely like having one on me, but on the other hand, it is expensive and I don't want to lose it. The 707 is great, but....it'seemed not a balisong. :P

What is your latest Benchmade knife purchase? I'll start things off. Yesterday I stumbled upon a pretty rare 800 AFCK. It's an 800-03/00 AL knife of the month from March 2000 (03/00)

I have been using the 551 Grip for a while. It is my first Benchmade, and I like it a lot. I'm now in the market to get a new one. I like the edge retention of the 154cm steel, but the 551 is a touch small for my use. What is a good design with a larger handle and more grip?

-140SBK Nimravus $180 - He had me remove the Black coating and Polish the entire knife last November. He had another un-modded one for trade, I liked this one. Actual Value now is $155.

-755 MPR $245 - This knife was actually dropped at a construction site & run over by a bulldozer. Only damage is a ding in the G10. But, the blade was re-sharpened by my knife-guy. Actual value now is $180.

...what are if any opinions of this knife do you have?

The 583-01 was my 1st Benchmade purchase. The Axis-assist/lock with the combination of D2 blade steel and a semi aggressive G10 handle had me sold. But, then there was the added feature of the Red back spacer plus the ever-present Barrage lock-out switch on the spine, that sold me twice on this model(583-01 & 587-01). I have since traded away the 587-0, but the 583-01 is still a favorite EDC.

I did hear that they already have a replacement model in process. I details out at using an aggressive ZT style G10 & S30V blade steel. I guess we should see something around February. I"ll reserve opinions upon handling the product, if it comes out.
