Yes full tang is the best. Question to all what blade length do you prefer? I think 4 - 5-1/2" is best for overall usefulness.

Antti, I have heard that before about Rowen making knives for TOPS, but I have never been able to confirm it. I do know that they are two different companies which still does not mean that Rowen doesn't make a few knives for TOPS. What I heard was that Rowen made a few of the TOPS knives that use 1095 High Carbon steel. Rowen is known for it's awesome heat treating of their 1095 blades....something about the process they use for heat treating makes them superior to other makers that are using 1095.

I have a Ontario RAT3. I like it very much. Next I think I will get a Izula. I wish they would bring back the Laser strike.

TOPS (Tactical-OPS USA) does not make RAT knives. Currently two companies make/selling RAT knives. Ontario and Rowan. Jeff Randle (designer of the RAT knives) had a contract with Ontario to produce his knife, there were issuses with the manufacturing process and quality control, the contract finished and now Rowan maufactures the knives, All the Rowan manufactured knives are made from 1095 carbon steel. Ontario uses 1095 carbon and D2 steel. The Rowan RATS are called Rc3, Rc4, Rc5, Rc6, and Izula, the Rc signifing Rat Cuttlery, The Ontario RATS are marked Rat 3, or Rat5.

You might like TOPS. I find them too thick.

I ordered more Rat3's and a Rat5. Now I am venturing out and trying a couple of TOPS. I think they look very similar.
