A friend shared some interesting thoughts with me about the recent school shooting. While we all find the use of a tool to murder children reprehensible and continue to pray for the families and survivors, some folks go too far too fast for my…Continue

Went hunting this afternoon. About 4:15 a buck jumped the fence from the adjoining property. He continued across the open lane I was watching. By the time I put my binoculars down and got my rifle up, he had made it into the brush on the other…Continue

Our muzzle loader season opened Monday, the 13th. I went hunting that afternoon but saw no deer, only a squirrel. This is the view from my deer stand. That fence at the end of the open lane is 185 yards from my stand.…Continue

Our bow season here opens Oct. 15 and runs through Feb. 10. Our gun season opens mid Nov. and runs through Feb. 10. So altogether we have almost a four month long season. Basically the limit is one a day. We do have a three buck season limit.…Continue

Fan across an article that I really liked, mostly because it made sense. All except the pic in #5 that is...1. Sight in Your Bow or RifleIf you wait until the week before the season to sight in your gun or bow, you’ll likely have to wait in line at…Continue

I agree Billy. I read a couple of these but this one struck me as the dumbest article about a great forward movement
Well, you can tell the political leanings of the writer. If I remember right, Democrats rammed Obamacare through also. The whole article is dumb. No wonder Chicago has a violence problem. I love the part about people having guns illegally. I don't think they care about laws anyway.
Republicans rammed a bill through the House on Wednesday that would make it easier for gun owners to legally carry concealed weapons across state lines,

seems an interesting choice of words
Well Charles it looks like you'll have your pick of bucks this year!! I hope you get a big one!!
Charles, Thiz isn't a Cross Bow, But I thought i could "Throw it in Here". It is Presumably a Bread Knife...........Also can be Used for Slicing Game, One side iz Completely Flat w/the Handle, the Other side haz a Ridge or Lip, that run'z the Length of the Blade, allowing, ?Whatever iz Sliced?? to Fall Away from the Cutting Edge. I will Attempt to send a Picture.
I'm a crossbow guy too Charles - I started last year and may have overdone it a bit on draw and my strength with fibromyalgia. :-)
I bought an Excalibur Matrix Bulldog 400 - 400 feet per second, 280lb draw. Reduced with a cocking rope/pulleys - but a heavy draw all the same. I really like it, I like the compactness of a compound, but I wanted the simplicity of a recurve. One string I can replace myself, no cables, cams etc.
Practicing, I can cock and shoot that maybe 10 times and I"m done, sweating like a feral hog in Texas in summer and ready to go rest!
Allan, things bow are just fine in the Arsenal. After all men were killing each other with bows long before guns were invented. And thanks for the heads up on the broadheads.
BTW I shoot a crossbow.
I forgot to say - check the rebate form - the Kore line is not included, X-Treme2 is covered. Yesterday they had a 3rd model on sale which might be out of stock by now. I just bought 3 packs of 3 broadheads at $14.99/pack (list $49.99), and should get back $30 of that from Rage. I called their number to confirm the rebate is 10 per pack not 10 per total purchase.
$5 for 3 broadheads can't be beaten, even the cheapest Allen (not my brand!) or other Walmart cheapest don't cost that little
Not quite firearm arsenal - but bows are used for hunting as much as rifles - MidwayUSA has a Rage broadhead promotion going on, and there is also a $10 rebate per package from Rage themselves.
At least one person in a club I joined swears by Rage, and brings home many deer every year.
Charles, FINALLY Got Here (? ??). Going to TRY and Add my Three (3) Girl'Z.
Michael.
