SMOKY MOUNTAIN KNIFE WORKS MEMORIES

This group began as we followed Knives Live together and had some fun.  I have made the choice for it to remain as a place to put up pics of members trips, deals, and SMKW discussions

Sure looks like a great spot with lots of great history. A perfect match for the folks at iKC.

All of it. I have not been there in about 4 years. I alway
S made it a point to stop in Kodak and spend a couple of days. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinsburg are great places to go also. I would always make a morning and evening trip to SMKW when I stayed and ended up staying there a couple of hours each time I went in that place. Oh, I also always ended up buying a knife or two each visit also.

Jan, the "kid in a toy store feeling" pretty well nails it.  If you like knives, how can you not love a visit to SMKW!  As for what is my favorite part, it is hard to pick out one specific thing.  There is just so much to see.  All the exhibits and displays on the walls and in cases.  You could spend days there to take in everything in detail.  And of course there is all the knives.  And now guns and ammo.  But if I had to pick a favorite part of a visit there, it would have to be finding a special knife to buy.  One that I have been looking for or one that just caught my eye and I had to have it!

Whether attending an event or just spending a few hours at Smoky Mountain Knife Works (SMKW) the day is certain to bring on that “kid in a toy store” feeling.

I like to suggest you make your entrance through the front doors.  The view is a large open space full of most any brand you could think of.

At some point during the day you begin to notice the background and settings.

I could spend an entire weekend just reading and looking at the history contained on the walls within SMKW

soooooo, what is your favorite part of a visit?

It was really just a quick trip as my dropped my daughter off (a very long story.)  In the process we were invited on the base and got to see a C-17 Galaxy on the flight line (but was forbidden to take photos by Base Security)     That will have to wait until the the summer or fall when we head out to Lewis/McCord in Tacoma WA.  WAs only on base for about an hour.  My daughter, who is still there has promised to send me some better pics of the base.    The two below are of a C141, one of the jets I jumped out of back in my youth.

C17 from a distance.  A I said no photos could be taken on the flight line.

Wow, Toby, You came within 90 miles of where I live. Altus is around 80 miles south of where I live.

Yes, getting together with folks you only met on the internet  is great, you still  have that great thing in common. We all love knives!
