Fox-n-Hound™ Fixed Blade Ulu

The hunt is on

As we head into hunting season I wanted to have a little fun
This weeks contest brings a bit of knife history and a signed house brand

I want to know more about the origins of the fox n hound trade mark and logo
But the contest is simple. I want to know who actually reads these LOL. If you read this through you will know. All you have to do is come into this Fridays chat and say
I support Knives Live So take a moment and see if you can find a bit of history on this company for me. Anyone know when it was started and by who?

This Fox-n-Hound Knives are headquartered in Italy. It was founded in 1977. Oreste Frati, That man who design the varies knives after the production and then in the commercial area, established FOX Cutlery in Maniago, Italy.  Oreste Frati has always known as a manufacturer of quality cutlery products for civilian, military, law enforcement, rescue, and other special forces.

hey  jan, i believe the name brand {fox-n-hound} is a smkw name. not sure who or when, I probably wont be on when I need to be.lol { at knives live}  timing isnt right for me,  but figured I would throw my 2 cents in now! ;-}

oh yea..i do know that some are made in italy, and some in china..

I own a Fox and Hound lockback in stag, with Damascus steel. I gave one like that to a Fox hunting friend years ago. He still loves it, till this day.

I believe they are made in Pakistan.

Now days, the fixed blades may be made in one place and the folders in another. Years ago they were made in Italy.

LOL,

Well the box yes!

I think that's the Turtle man's autograph.

Nope, the show's hosts.  Josh Hill, Jay Parker, and Anthony (Tony) Watkins.

The knife is indeed made in Pakistan but it does have 440A stainless steel and has proven to be an excellent knife for the price.  The build is exceptional and the sheath is pretty dang good.  I use the knife primarily for dicing veggies and frozen meat.  Hasn't failed me yet. Mine was  pretty darn sharp right out the box and it is still going strong.

I've got quite a few fixed blades, too many now to display at the same time So I had to choose which ones needed to be sotred and which needed to be displayed.  This knife knife beat out a Buck and two Colts and about four other knives. It is displayed right along  with a Case, a Bear & Son, and a Camillus. It proved its worth.
