I'm glad you didn't lose a digit putting it to bed!

Me too Ron!  LOL

Yep, that's the same technique that I use to re-sheath this baby. Shove it in with my palm on the butt-end of the handle. I love the way it snaps into the Kydex with such authority. I'm glad you didn't lose a digit putting it to bed!

Ron

No, it didn't cut me too bad.  About a 1/4 inch long cut near the end of my index finger.  But if I had put much pressure on it I think I probably would have sliced the end of my finger off.  Fortunately my finger was just touching the blade as it slid across it.

Now when I resheath the knife I start it in and then hit the back end of the handle with the palm of my hand to finish seating it in the sheath.  Safer that way!  LOL

@ Charles - OUCH!

I put lanyards on virtually anything and everything. Once my hand and wrist are in this lanyard I use the larger orange bead to cinch it down for a more secure attachment. But even with this lanyard it would not prevent sliding up the handle as you did Charles. I hope you didn't cut yourself too bad? If your knife is like mine, it's razor sharp! These are really super nice knives!

Nice knife and lanyard.  The lanyard is a good idea.  I chopped a 2 1/2 inch thick tree down with mine.  It didn't fly out of my hand but my hand did slide up the handle as I was putting it back in the sheath and I cut my finger.

The lanyard is really a must on this knife. The micarta handle is so smooth that without the lanyard it would probably fly right out of your hand. It's quite a hefty knife which will no doubt make it a really great chopper. I can hardly wait to get it out for a field test. Rumor has it that the trees in my neck of the woods are already trembling in fearful anticipation. The "Defiant" is truly a beast of a knife!

The lanyard is a great finishing touch! I am really looking forward to seeing the reviews done on this one
