Thanks for your response to my query, Wayne!
I am definitely a fan of your work and hope to one day become the proud owner of one of your knives.
You were obviously born with a gift and it shows in the knives you create. And not just the knives, but the sheaths as well.
Cheers, my friend!
Ron, I have always been passionate about knives for as long as I can remember, Most of my working life I have made a living from doing crafts of some sort, So I think it was only a mater of time before I started with knives, I only wish I had started sooner, Its been around seven years now.
I am mostly self taught but I am lucky enough that in South Africa we have a very supportive knife making community, There is always some knife club having a talk or demonstration on some technique whether its forging or heat treatment.
Knife makers that inspired me in the beginning are Tai Goo and Danniel Winkler amongst many.
Ron, Thanks for your interest in my work its always a pleasure to have your positive comments.
I especially love all of the natural materials, indigenous to your part of the world, that you utilize to create these truly beautiful knives. You are indeed a very gifted craftsman and artist, Wayne.
If you wouldn't mind, I would love to hear a little bit about how you got started. How old you were when the knife bug bit you and who mentored you back when you were first getting started making knives? I am in awe of your body of work. Just spectacular!
Cheers, mate!
