Hi, new to the group, and based in the UK. I collect vintages knives, and have a small collection. I prefer to collect ww1 (when I can afford them!) And ww2, preferably U.S knives. The knife in the…Continue

"Not up with modern fixed blade makers, but like a vintage knife. Looking forward to learning some things.  I collect US ww2, when I can, but UK prices are crazy to say the least ! Here's a nice dagger from across the pond:"

"Thank you for your help. It does look like a Khyber knife and the spine has the T-shape t it . The scabbard is made of leather over wood, and has 1919 stamped into the blade, shall continue to explore along the Khyber/ Persian route."

J.J. Smith III replied to tony wing's discussion New and help.
"Tony, your knife looks to be a Khyber (or Khyber styled) knife.  True Khyber knives generally have a t shaped spine and have a full tang."

Hi Tony, Is that a Robbins Dudley knuckle blade knife on your cover pic? I have found two really good books on WWII knives, you may have them already....Knives of the United States Military World War II by Michael W. Silvey, 249 pgs. w/  color pics & Pocket Knives of the United States Military, 135 pgs. w/ color pics. Mr. Silvey has written other books but they are out of circulation. I used to have his card, which I can't find but I do have his address. Nice fellow & very knowledgeable. Couldn't find your dagger in his books but did find the push dagger. Your dagger has a similar butt cap to knives made by Pal Cutlery but I couldn't find a pic of a dagger with that same butt cap only clip blades....
