Does anyone have a 580T stockman made by Ulster ? The tang stamp says Ulster, USA, 580T. From what I read, these were used in the prince Albert Tobacco can offers.  I have seen a few on Ebay , and i am interested in buying one, but would like to know how rare they are. Here is the link to the article I read,  http://collectors-of-schrades-r.us/articles/Ulster.pdf

Excellent Prince Alberts!!!

Hi John,

Is there any blade wear ? It does not look like it from what I can see in the pictures. I can't seem to choose a knife I would want to part with that would be a fair trade. What do you think you might want for it ?

Here are three photos of my extra 58OT. Let me know if your interested and I will send it to you, once its in your hands you let me know if you have something to trade or I will sell it to you for a fair price. I know I take a lousy photo but I'll keep trying.

Sincerely,

Ricky

Blade wear is minimal, Still has snap on all three blades. Main blade doesnt snap as well as the others. On a scale of one to five I would give it a three. If you dont want to trade something I would consider $30.00 a fair price.

Sincerely,

John

Thanks John. Let me look again at what I might could trade. I have bought too many knives lately and I need to pay my bills down before I buy another knife. If I cannot find a good trade, I will let you know when I can buy it.

Just a point for the sake of accuracy, and anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the model number designation is "OT" for "Old Timer". This is consistent with the model designations of "UH" for the Uncle Henry line, which I believe have the same model numbers but different handle materials.

You are correct about the OT and the UH. Model numbers changed though. As an example, the 895 open stock is the same frame and blades as the 93OT, and the 897UH, although the 897UH has stainless blades. I have found that when you are searching Ebay for a old timer, say 34ot, you better search for a 340t as well. A lot of people think the O on the tang stamp is a zero.
