WOW! My eyes nearly jumped out of their sockets looking at the pictures of those 2 you've posted!!!
That pearl handled stockman is absolutely gorgeous! All of the elements of beauty that went into the creation of that knife are astonishing! The pearl is blazing with fire! The engraving on the bolsters and the file work on the blades and back springs all work together to create this majestic piece!
The same can be said of the Scrimshaw Barlow. Those same elements all work in concert to create a genuinely "one of a kind" piece! I especially like the "Tall Ship" theme that Joe Luiz inscribed onto that Mammoth Ivory!
Wow. Just, WOW!
Thanks for sharing those, Robert! I'll look forward to seeing your choo choo's! *grin*
My user name over at AAPK is "sdr." And I still poke my head in over there from time to time. But this is my home. I'm really glad you found us! Thanks for accepting my offer of friendship!
I hope you stick around and have some fun with us. I know that you're a veritable fountain of knife knowledge. Especially as it pertains to Colonial Knives!
Oh! In case no one has mentioned it to you yet ~ We love photographs! And, not just of knives. In fact, I would love to see some pictures of the model trains you build! Or of anything else that interests you.
If you need any help getting settled in around this camp, just give me a shout-out. I'll do what I can to give you a hand.
Welcome, Robert-I am proud to make your acquantance !! Kick you shoes off and dive in- You will find that this is by far the friendliest knife site on the web-I have been a member of other sites, but this one is "HOME"
BTW, in the future, I may pick your brain about a couple of vintage Colonials I found of my parents while preparing their house for an estate sale a few years back, if you do not mind-
Hey there, Robert! Welcome to iKnife! Come on in, kick back and check things out. There's some handy tips on our front page to help you find your way around, and some fantastic people in the Chat room if you have any questions or want to shoot the breeze. You've landed in friendly territory! I have read excerpts from your book and perhaps have enjoyed an exchange with you over at AAPK in days gone by?
iKC is a great place to share pictures of your collection and swap stories with folks who all have a mutual interest in knives and their history. I'm glad you found us!
