Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hello SAK fan,
Actually my favorite SAKs are the different alox models. As an example of the colors I attach a pic of my farmers. Actually I have 4 colors.

See more colored alox pics in my album.

Do you also have alox SAKs, perhaps in other colors?
Please show me them.

LOVE the KNT!!

During fall 2015 Victorinox has produced four bi-color advertising Alox Farmer. All are limited to 100 pieces and three of them are serialized.

Limited edition advertising knives.  That is a pretty good concept

Good day to you all and happy new year.

Martin, I feel like I had to say something about those ads... I love saks, i ow about 1000 of them but I started to get frustrated recently with Victorinox. I (of course) purchased those bicolors, how not to!!!!, but I feel like I was dragged into it. I mean come on!! They cost me each 165 USD more or less... black market.... and that's for an adv knife.

They do look nice (except from the wintrhur that the color combination sucks lols) and they are limited but there is no limit to adv knifes, is it? I could order 50 bicolors with my initials on them and black market them afterwards.

Do I sound like the mother-in-law trying to drive the car from the back seats??

I turned recently to US hand made limited knifes and I think these are my missing link between my collection and my future collection.

What do you think Martin??

Hello Andreas and Jan,

Limited special run advertising knives :-)

First some more information about these new adv knives. The "limitation" is only made by laser engraving a number on the blade. These laser engravings are not made by Victorinox. These are made later by other companies on behalf of the client who ordered the run from Victorinox. Victorinox refuses to serialize such advertising knives.

I'm not a big friend of knives with additions from others than from Victorinox. That's why the k-n-t knives are not serialized.

As an Alox collector I like the bi-color knives and I could buy them for a good price (70-80 $ each).

I understand your feelings. If I had to pay more than double for one of these I would not.

At the beginning of 2015 Victorinox changed again the rules for ordering Alox knives. They want to be the only to produce Alox special run knives. That's why they now produce one Alox set each year in a different color. All other Alox knives must have some kind of advertising on it to distinguish these knives from the "real" Victorinox special run. Even Swissbianco has to put an adverstising on his Alox.

So now I'm in a dilemma. As Alox collector I want to have lots of Alox knives in different colors each year. I prefer non adv knives. But if I do collect only "real" Victorinox Special run I'll have only one set of three new knives per year. That is too few. :-(

It's a similar situation as it was about 6 years ago when I started collecting Alox knives. Vic had only their standard Alox knives in silver. I like the old red and silver Alox, but to me it was to boring to collect only two colors. Therefore I was happy when Swissbianco and others ordered colored Alox. The following years were great for Alox collectors.

What shall I do now?

Probably I'll continue to collect new advertising Alox if I can get these for an affordable price. But I'm not married to Victorinox :-)

I already started some other knife collections. I like Spyderco, Titanium knives, traditional US pocket knives etc.

Fortunately the possibilities are endless and there is something for every budget. :-)

That's one of the great things about our hobby.

Thanks, Martin, for such an informative reply to the questions that were posed regarding Victorinox, alox and advertising. You have an amazing collection of alox knives and I always enjoy the pictures you post of new additions to that collection. Happy New Year, my friend!
