Hi Jan

It's always an adventure and one that I personally like and get hours of enjoyment doing on a daily basis. I believe that proper research and correctly dating and Identifying the item, which in this case is the Craftsman model #9555 which if my dating skills are accurate would have first been available in 1965-66, dating a vintage American made Pocket knife is probably the most important aspect of collecting knives. Schrade Walden made SFO'S for a wide range of retailers such as L.L. Bean, Sears & Roebuck, Shapleigh Hardware, J.C. Penny's and many, many others of the era and even into the 1990's. Schrade Walden also made knives for Case Cutlery namely the famous camper Pattern #0045 which was introduced to the market place sometime in the 1940's. Model numbers would range from #640045 to the latest and most memorable the Case Camper #6445R.
