Queen Cutlery & Friends

Knives have been made at the factory of Queen Cutlery Company of Titusville Pennsylvania for over 100 years. It is arguably the oldest and last American Cutlery that truly continues to produce knives in the same way as they were produced there when the factory opened in 1902. The factory’s first tenant was the Schatt & Morgan Cutlery Company: Queen Cutlery Company displaced Schatt & Morgan there in 1933. Queen City Cutlery Company first began to produce knives in 1918 around the end of the First World War, incorporated in 1922, and shortened their name to “Queen Cutlery Company” in January of 1946.  Purchased by Daniels Family Cutlery Corporation on September 18, 2012

I was able to get to the Great Lakes Knife Show on Friday and got to have a nice talk with Ken Daniels.  He had a couple of those whittlers out for sale and told me that it had been on the cover of Blade, though he hadn't yet seen it.  He told me that it's the knife he's currently carrying, and pulled one out of his pocket to prove it.  I was really impressed with those knives, and feel that the cover exposure was well earned.

I almost picked one up, but he had a Ruple Sowbelly that I just couldn't pass up.

Gentlemen...2009 TCC Farmers Jack...arrived today...lovely knife, excellent fit and finish.  I tried to put the bug is DFC's ear about perhaps bringing this one back for a limited run, with a larger rooster's comb on the secondary. And as much as I love Queens use of bone scales, perhaps some of the newer stabilized woods? I suppose if the interest were there...we shall see.  Regards.

Dale,

With Clarence gone, his grandson Austin is running the company.  He also enjoys a great relationship with Queen and is a member here with us.  I would like to see the premier come back as a sort of tribute to Clarence (and I really like the shield).
