Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

For those that have been asking, first and foremost Thank you for your concern. Yes we are a bit in the way here, if you look at the map on the left, we are in towns county. The other two will show you where the fires are. No evacuation for us so far. Pray that continues if you would please.

still burning, still about 1/2 mile per day. Saying it may speed up the burn when winds come in Friday night but hopefully that also brings in rain on Sat.  50% chance of rain with 20 mph winds WNW.  Could escalate quick if we dont get that rain but they are saying it looks good

Rock Mountain Fire:Officially 9.29 miles from the house, 10% contained. 72 hours: Continued fire spread of 3/4 to 1 mile or more during burn period. Winds are predicted to increase during the 48-72 hour time frame. Predicted increase in winds will increase fire spread in areas of uncontained line.

Boteler Fire:  7.12 miles from our home 51% contained  Beginning Wednesday, a warming and drying trend begins in the fire area. Initially, temperatures will reach 60+ degrees. This threshold level will persist into Friday. Large fire growth is not expected with higher relative humidity and light winds.

Boteler fire (about 18 miles, sill on the NC border side

12 hours: Inversion layer tonight will hold smoke and moisture in low laying areas. Humidity levels above the inversion promote burning well into the night time hours. Ridge top winds 5-10 mph will have an influence on active fire. Low to moderate night time growth on uncontrolled fires can be expected.

24 hours: Transport winds and sun shine return to the fire area today. Slightly lower humidity and increased ventilation will also contribute to fire movement. Undetected spots and green islands will return to modest burning characteristics. Fire in previously burned areas is possible with leaf fall is still occurring.

This one would either have to jump the lake or join the other one to get to us.  Technically, our house abuts this forest but on our side of the lake

6pm update (rock mountain fire, about 8 miles from us)

12 hours: Fire spread up to half mile in areas of open line. Interior fuels will continue to burn until consumed. Fire spread will be diminishing overnight as relative humidity level increases.

24 hours: Fire spread up to half mile in areas of open line. Fire spread will be in multiple directions with southerly being the dominant direction given the forecasted winds.

48-72 hours: Continued fire spread of about half mile per day. Predicted lower relative humidity levels will further increase fire spread. Fire will continue to grow to the north, south and west.
