Colonial Prov. USA KIWI Fruit Knife 5.90 inches SFO Inscribed

Very Cool Colonial Providence USA Knife believed to be an SFO before KIWIFruit was introduced to America on a Commercial Level in grocery Stores and farmers markets, very interesting to say the least and it seems way larger than the traditional Fruit Knife of the era.

Ralph,

I have been keeping my eyes open for a video of someone using these knives as originally intended

Very Interesting Knife called by many different names, Melon Tester, Sausage Knife is two of the most popular. If you know of other names used for these types of knives please comment. It was an influential thing to present someone with a Fruit Knife in the mid to late 1800's. They had extravagant sets made of silver and purportedly Gold. Sheffield England was a leader in the manufacturing of early fruit knives.
