Recently acquired an Excelsior pocket knife for &10. I had never heard of the knife company and honestly at a glance thought it said electrical. Sure was happy with my mistake when I found out what I have.

Do you belong to a group? Consider clicking the Like tab!tag:iknifecollector.com,2014-07-09:3181080:Topic:11633712014-07-09T17:59:20.368ZTobias Gibsonhttps://iknifecollector.com/profile/TobiasGibson

I admit it. I currently belong to 16 groups in iKC. To my surprise I had only clicked the "like" button in 10 of those groups. I've belonged to the Swiss Army Knife Group for well over a year and never clicked the "like" button. Shame on me!. I have rectified that problem. I have now clicked the Like Button in every group I've joined. Why did I do? Simply to let the owner of the group know I appreciate that he was willing enough to create and maintain a group!

If you join a group, please consider clicking the like button. It's fast, it's easy, it's free. And let the the person who created the group know that even if you're not going to contribute with a multitude of posts you are thankful that someone was thoughtful enough to create such a group.

And if you're the administrator of a group, consider sending out a friend request to any members who join your group. It's a nice way of saying thank you for taking the time to join my group and being part of the iKC community. This is also fast, easy, and free!
Posting Pictures Suggestiontag:iknifecollector.com,2014-04-27:3181080:Topic:11277922014-04-27T22:40:17.869ZCraig Henryhttps://iknifecollector.com/profile/CraigHenry

Is it just me, or do you too find yourself looking at the pictures posted and you think to yourself "What brand is that?", "What handle material is that?", etc.?

I think it would be really nice if when posting pictures, a little bit of information with them would be really helpful, at least in the title of the photo, especially for people that haven't been collecting very long...and for us old time collectors, it would help too!

A good many times I have heard, you’re not set up like a forum and I keep getting lost. So I have decided we need a cheat sheet.

The main page of iKC is where everything has its roots but from any page you can reach the navigation bar at the top

You can bring yourself to the main page from anywhere by clicking main

Once there the set up pretty much stays that same

WHAT IS HOT GROUPS INBOX/SETTINGS

FORUMS PHOTO SLIDE SHOW LATEST ACTIVITY

BIRTHDAYS BLOGS SPONSORS

VIDEOS

EVENTS

Notice the navigation bar at the top will also take you to the same places. The biggest different is when you come in from the main page of iKC, it shows you the latest in each of those categories. There are more tabs at the top that you can explore but this is the basics for navigating around our site.

Have some fun, visit a portion of the site you have not previously seen. Did you know we have over 70 specialty GROUPS to talk about your favorite brand, outdoor activities, survival, shooting, repairing knives or even the beginning builder.

As always, Thanks for being here with us. The members are what make our site a home

Ever wonder when you’re writing that forum or loading in a picture why the category at the bottom says TAGS?

When you search for a knife on the internet, you enter a keyword right? That key word reads TAGS and gives you the results of your search. Now, that is an extremely simplified version of what happens but it is the result none the less.
