Howdy IKC,

I was just wondering if you carry a knife or any other weapon when you are sleeping? I know we have our EDC (knives, mace, guns, ect) but at the end of the day I put all my "stuff" up. So my question is do you carry a weapon when you sleep just in case you need to get up quickly and leave with out having the time to grab your EDCs.

Thanks for you input.

Thanks for you input. Flashlights. EDC or other usestag:iknifecollector.com,2013-08-26:3181080:Topic:9430032013-08-26T14:15:25.008ZJack Haskins, Jr.https://iknifecollector.com/profile/JackHaskinsJr

An EDC flashlight is something I never considered until the past year or two. This idea came from communicating with people on knife forums. Seems there is a bunch of flashlight nuts out there just like a bunch of knife nuts. These guys even collect lights and get excited when their favorite company comes out with a new model. They have to buy one even though they already have around 50 (or more) flashlights already of all different sizes, shapes, colors, uses, etc. Have you ever heard…

They have to buy one even though they already have around 50 (or more) flashlights already of all different sizes, shapes, colors, uses, etc. Have you ever heard of anything so rediculous? lol Betcha have. :) There is even a "candlepower" forum specifically for lights. I might have the forum name wrong.

Anyway, I now have 3 lights. I have bought 5 or 6. They don't excite me like a pocket knife might but I have been carrying a Fenix LD01 light (single AAA) in my pocket for about a year. It's as common there as a pocket knife. I can even take it into the courthouse or airport. :)

In the past several years (10 or 15) the technology has improved without me knowing. I used to carry a Mini-Maglight (2 AA batteries) in my tool pouch. Now my single AAA battery light out performs that thing by about 3 times. It's amazing. I can walk the dog or look under the couch for the grandson's toy with a brightness applicable for each. My Fenix LD01 has 3 brightnesses and that's all it does. Some of the lights you can get these days have strobe, SOS, many brightness levels and will change the baby's diaper in a pinch.

I even invested in a battery charger for AA and AAA batteries. This thing is a godsend for my 3 year old grandson's toys in addition to flashlights or any battery device. NEVER don't have a AA or AAA battery anymore.

Are there any light nuts here? If so I thought it might justify a group.

Here is my light attached to a small knife. I always carry the light now and prefer to have a "keychain knife" attached to it instead of my keys. Sorry about the blurry picture. Camera's fault of course. :)

I have EDC/OCD. Which is tough for me when I buy more expensive knives. Is there a doctor in the house?
