The list aside, I want to know whats on your wish list! I want to ask that you think about our sponsors as you put that list together. They pay the nuts and bolts that keep iKC alive. I call it shopping local, right here from our sponsors links. A click on any of the ads running on iKC will take you to that sponsors home page.

There are manufactures and knife sales sites.

You can buy right from Colonial Knives, White River knives, Maher and Grosh, Fiddleback Forge. Or look through the selections at Reed Cutlery, Lees Cutlery, JSR sports and Kifer Classic Cutlery. At Gear2Survive you can peruse not only knives but lots of survival and outdoor gear. We all know Bruce Voyles has some wonderful auctions and who doesn't want a subscription to Knife Magazine?

So let's let our loved ones know what we would like and even where to get it ! Shopping local supports not only our sponsors businesses but us as well.

Thank you

Something that has been happening on some of the social media these days is games. For those of you that do not utilize those types of pages, they are a great and fun way to raise some funds and give everyone an option to own a particular knife. We cannot actually do a raffle, they come under some weird heading in internet rulings. What we can do is recognize each person donating.

I WANT TO PLAY A GAME!

So how this works is that there will be 30 slots open to donate into in this game. Each slot represents a donation of 10.00 USD to iKC. Post what numbers in the game you would like your name to be attached to and I will fill them in. When all 30 pieces have been played, I will use Random.org (and film it for your viewing) to choose the winner of our game.

Our winning donor will get the following, a unique knife.

Many of you were here in 2013 when a custom knife maker approached us and asked us to be our club knife maker that year. VERY long story short, the maker did not honor his commitment and Queen stepped in to build us a one off mountain man (Thank you Queen) But 5 of the knives WERE actually produced and have been sitting in my safe. If you have been watching me lately, I have trying to make sure some things come out of the collectors safes, mine included, and become available to more collectors. So I am going to offer one of those out to iKC members only.

A canoe pattern. The body and bolsters are milled 416 and the blade is 154CPM, with a 1/2 stop. It is 3 5/8 closed and it is a Stag Cut Red Bone. These 5 are the only knives ever made with an iKC tang stamp and the only customs ever made for this community.

Let the game begin and Thank You, to all our members, for all you do to support your community.

The American Museum of Cutlery in the Village of Cattaraugus highlights an industry that produced axes, adzes, knives and plows for early pioneers in and around Cattaraugus County and which, though smaller, survives today. The American Museum of Cutlery celebrates the histories of past, present, and future manufacturers and bring to life these histories by way of accumulating written, oral and photographic archives as well as examples of the cutlers’ works. The Museum intends to establish itself as an important research and educational facility and serve as the premier guardian of all of America’s edged tool and weapon manufacturing history for future generations.

The location of this museum is no coincidence. Within a 50 mile radius of Cattaraugus, approximately 150 different cutlery companies existed during nearly a 200 year period in our nation’s history. The location of 9 Main Street, is where knives were offered for sale when the building was constructed in 1888.

Among the clean lines and beautiful knives is a gentleman I have never met but I have long admired his work..He seems as capable/comfortable of creating a folder as a fixed. I have shared his work on iKC at http://www.iknifecollector.com/group/knifemakersgroup/forum/topics/romano-knives

I have some new photos I will get up this week

Tonight I was privileged to see a Russian master maker or two and have asked they be invited to join us.

Some of the work just amazes me
