Paul, you have the rarest two knives of this series. 1980 was the very first and I think they only made 300 of them. The 1981 model, they made 500 I think. In my list above I valued the 1980 at $650 and the 1981 at $425. HOWEVER, if someone were trying to complete his set of Boker Annual Damask knives and didn't have these two, I could see the price on the 1980 model going as high as $800-$1000. You may have to wait a while for the right buyer. If I had one to sell, I'd probably start at…

One thing for certain, they ain't making those any more! Would love to see a picture.

Ricky, I have a 1980 and 1981 Boker Damask Knife of the Year. They are both new and in the box. I am trying to assign a worth to them should I try to sell them. I admit my knowledge of these knives is limited, there fore I need some help. I would appreciate any help you can give.

Ricky Ray said:…

My general view is that almost any knife drops in value 40% the first year, and then begins to increase in value by about 4% each year thereafter, so that after about 15 years your investment begins to pay off.

Literally thousands of other factors influence the outcome however.

Here's a little something I started putting together a while back. It is quite incomplete. Where available, I list the original MSRP, my estimated 2018 value, and a range of online pricing. Just one man's opinion, so take none of this as absolute. Help me make it better if you see I am way off. it appears that most of the time Boker knives can be purchased for 60%-70% of MSRP, so I discount the value by that much. Help me make it better if you see I am way off. it appears that most of the time Boker knives can be purchased for 60%-70% of MSRP, so I discount the value by that much. Then I think they will increase in value every year just a bit more than the rate of inflation. (on average 3%-4%) Then I try to adjust a bit up or down based on how many knives were made, popularity of the pattern, and handle material desirability.
