<p>I have magnified this as much as I can, to me it looks like there may be a makers mark that has been removed. Try taking a piece of paper and a pencil, do a rubbing over it and see it anything shows. It does appear to have been a talented maker because of the chosen materials and the guard, although the nut tells me someone may have taken apart a knife and "cobbled" one together. Let's see if we can get a rubbing to show up anything.</p>
