My #86 Oil Field Jack JSR Sports & More SFO two blade Chocolate Almond peach-seed jigged knife has been my favorite since November 2019. I bought a light and a dark one. I am a blue bone scales , single blade kind of guy. The #86 Oil Field Jack run has been the best since I started collecting GEC. GEC#23 Pioneer Trapper Franks SFO was just released 06/24/2020 today. This new knife will be my favorite.
LOL,

Maybe a better (or easier to pick) question is what is your top 5 patterns? This is a GEC web site forum question from awhile back. Mine in no real order are #72, #73, #54, #53, #66, #56....Who said that I knew how to count?!

If I see one around I will let you know. As you know Primitive is becoming harder and harder to get. They seem to go fast when they come out.

My favorite is a moose pattern, I don't have one like I want but I'll keep trying. A moose is a good outdoorsman pattern and I started getting a few from different brands. The GEC moose that I want is one with primitive bone and they are hard to locate.

Now that would indeed be a real "Favorite".

A #72 Mini-Lockback with 440-C blade steel and American Elk handles. I would definetly NEED at least a couple of them! I think the Elk would make an excellent choice of handle material for that knife.

I have heard GEC will be doing a run of the #72's with 440-C in both the Clip style blade and the Wharncliffe blade.

I like both styles, so I guess I'll end up with at least one of each.

I appreciate the extra edge holding the 440-C gives due to the heat treatment at a couple of extra Rc points. It's a good choice for a working knife, as is the good old 1095.
Dave, I can't wait for the st…tag:iknifecollector.com,2011-06-06:3181080:Comment:3261892011-06-06T11:42:19.433Zjohnny twoshoeshttps://iknifecollector.com/profile/johnnytwoshoes

Dave, I can't wait for the stainless #72s, I waited on a getting a #72 for some strange reason, but now I know. It's because I NEED a stainless #72. And in Elk Stag, that would go great with my Tpick.

Sounds like you have some great favorites my friend.

Jan, Johnny, you're absolutely right!!

Right this absolute minute I have a #62 Easy Pocket Congress in my pocket, A #65 "Hogan" in a belt pouch on my left hip, and a #72 Mini-Lockback clip blade in another belt pouch on my right hip. So there's my favorites.....at the moment.

But not far away, in case the mood changes, are my other favorites. The #12 Toothpicks, #53 Stockmans, #61 Congress, and an outstanding little #66 Mink Skinner. Of course, being as they are all…

But not far away, in case the mood changes, are my other favorites. The #12 Toothpicks, #53 Stockmans, #61 Congress, and an outstanding little #66 Mink Skinner. Of course, being as they are all " favorites" I have extras or backups for all of them in case I lose one, (which I haven't done in about 60 years......but you never know).

In all honesty, each of my pocket knives are truly my little friends and it's really hard to actually choose one favorite over another. Besides, each one is specially designed to do certain chores better than others, each one a "Specialist" if you will. I guess that's why I have three of my friends with me right now. (Can't have too many friends!!).

And just about the time I have almost convinced myself that I have finally narrowed the field to a couple of real "favorites", along comes GEC with something that upsets the whole cart once again. We just can't win.

(I'm looking forward to the new #72 Mini-Lockbacks in 440-C blade steel. That'll be my next "favorite"). Maybe.
