Thanks for stopping by Rick. I need a few more for my collection too LOL. The one I bought is a user and it sure stands up to the tasks on this ranch.

Good Knife Chris, I have it too. It's a very tactical knife.

I carry a ZT0400 with me at all times..It is sweet..stays in my pocket (doesn't ride up) and when I pull my keys out it stays in the pocket..I love the blade shape and the way it feels in my hand. Glad to be aboard this forum..

Should be receiving my new ZT's in the next couple of weeks. I have had on order the 0550 and 0551 since last year. I hear one is in and the other is due in the next two weeks. I am so stoked. I also just put in my preorder on Friday for the new ZT 0777 on the cover of Blade Magazine. Another beauty! One left to go. I want the 0100 fixed blade that Chris shows below. Sweet!

Very nice Patrik!  I just got the new 0550BLK in today.  Pic soon.  Did you ever find the SS Volt and Zing you wanted?

Comment by Patrik Ilijev on September 26, 2012

Hi Jim thank you. The 0550 is a awesome knife did you get the gen2 or gen1 I got mine on blade-forums from a nice seller still waiting for it.

I did not bought the Volt still waiting to find a perfect deal and the Zing is on hold right now I went in a more expensive venture I bought two Microtech knives so you can imagine a lot of zings an volts have gone bye bye but maybe in a few moths still waiting on a good price on the Echelon and just recently scored a Knockout for a killer deal.  I hope you enjoy your ZT and maybe you pimp it out with some custom scales from Rick Hinderer. I do want the blue frag pattern G10.

Hello ZT friends Here is my recent ZT purchase

ZT 0550

Comment by Jim Wilson on October 20, 2012

Hey Patrik.  I did get a gen 2 as the 0550BLK limited run was offered as the new generation.  I think you will enjoy it.  Let us know how it goes!

Guy - that video was discussed with the uploader and since he took the knife apart to put the aftermarket scale on, it was believed that he did not reassemble the knife correctly and may have caused the problem himself.  I have 3 new generation 0550s and not a single problem with any of them.  I don't think the youtube uploaders that create their own problems and display it as a manufacturer issue realize what kind of negative impact it has on future buyers.  The thousands that got a good solid knife aren't uploading theirs unfortunately.  I certainly wouldn't let it keep me from getting one, but I know everybody is different.

Comment by Guy Fitoussi on October 20, 2012

Thank's Jim.

I admit that after i saw this video i thougt to my self that it cant be real.

not something you expect from zt.

Comment by Patrik Ilijev on October 20, 2012

Yes that happened to my friend it is his channel as far as he told me this happened to his new knife maybe it is a single occurrence if you don't want to risk it I suggest buy the gen 1 it is a more solid version anyway. Or if you like to have a flipper go with the 0560 just be prepared to sharpen it often because the ZT Elmex does not hold the edge for long. It is also a Hinderer design so you cant go wrong with any of them. But I strongly suggest that you go to  a knife shop and try them out.

Comment by Patrik Ilijev on October 20, 2012

Hey Jim.

Yes Carter Did but on a new scale but really what can you not reassemble correctly ? That scale was a original hinderer scale not some crappy pimp job scale so Is I can not take apart my user knife to clean it and do some maintenance why even bother to buy such a knife in a first place. To be hones a 200+ dollar knife should take this kind of things. I think this was a single problematic knife this could happen to anybody not just ZT. After all this is what for the warranty is.

Comment by Jim Wilson on October 20, 2012

I agree, but some companies would not cover a knife under warranty after the user takes it apart.  Good for ZT to let him send it back in and check it over.  If a knife did get through the quality control, that is unfortunate.  From what I understand ZT does do checks on the locks before sending them out.  I'll have to read the thread again to see if ZT fixed the issue.  I hope he is still happy with ZT when all is said and done.
