Lars,

I can certainly appreciate why this Bowie would be a favorite of yours. Olive wood is one of my absolute favorite types of wood. Especially when it's incorporated as a knife handle, such as yours. I really like the grinds and the angles they've produced on your blade. Is that just a false edge or is the swedge actually sharpened? She sure is a looker!

For those who may not be aware, Gaeta is a breed of Olive, and the handle is made from its root.

Thank you!  I am one of those that was unaware but will be watching for it.  Sweet grind on this one and that wood is very complimentary to the knife

Confirming Jan's comments that this club is still alive and kicking, here is my favorite knife...for today. It's my Gaeta Bowie from Ash Knives, Canada. For those who may not be aware, Gaeta is a breed of Olive, and the handle is made from its root.

The Bowie features a 440C stainless steel clip point Bowie blade with groove, full brass guard and pommel, and custom Gaeta wood handle with  finger grooves.

In a classic move of just jumping in with both feet, I read Jan's comments after I joined this group. This group is Deactivated? It can't be! I have not yet begun to brag on which is my favorite knife of the moment!

So as the sole signature of the iKC petition to reactivate this group, and minutes spent lobbying in the chat room, Jan said "sure Lars...just don't sing".

OK - so it appears the group is not actually deactivated and content removed, and we braggers have once again prevailed in obtaining a home.

Let's start showing off your favorites! Mine will be on here shortly...have to take the photos first.

Frank,

If time permits, please get some close ups of those Talwars. I admire that knife if the old Cold Steel catalog occasionally.

This group will be deactivated on July 4, 2014.  As I begin to set us up for transitioning to the new format our provider is offering, we will lessen the amount of groups that we host and those that are not showing activity regrettably will be the ones that need to be deactivated.  Thank you for the posting.  If there is anything in here you would like moved to another area, please let me know and I will capture it and move it
