Schrade Collectors

Many people collected Schrade knives over the years. Almost everyone had to have a Schrade. Much has changed, but they still make Schrade Knives and now they are coming out with new steels and new handle materials.

So old fan or new collector, Lets talk about Schrade!

Nice knife Dave. I have started to collect the folding hunters like the one you have there.

The first 227UH knives with the two blades and the first 127UH knives with one blade did NOT have U.S.A. in the tang stamp. Here are examples. The second picture doesn't show the complete tang stamp properly because of my poor scan, but I assure you these knives are early authentic and there is NO U.S.A. All is proper and good. This would put the knife in the 1946-1973 tang stamp

I haven't collected Schrade knives (yet) but I found this Uncle Henry in an antique store on a recent vacation:

with a tang stamp that's a little different from what I've been able to find online:

It's about 9-1/2" long total, 5-1/4" when closed.  Nice, heavy knife!  Doesn't look used and just needs a little cleanup.  Any additional info about it would be appreciated.
