I like it.  I like it a lot.  Mismatching color bothers me more than texture.  I recently got a knife with one gnarly side and one smoother side.  I've found that it makes a great worry stone as my fingers find the difference quite interesting.

Fantastic looking knife all around, in my opinion.  Good job on that one.

Stag on the rear isn't quite as nice in texture, but matches nicely in color.

I've eyeballed those tadpoles more than once.  That looks like a great example that you have there.  Can we see a shot of the pile side?
