A trip to the store......

I also posted this in the A.G. Russell group. But I though a couple of more people might get a kick out of this.

This past summer I went on a trip to Arkansas to visit with A.G. Russell and be able to be there for the Knife Event that he organises with his people.

When there I (offcourse) also visited his store. It's the biggest knife aimed store I've ever seen and I thought it might be nice if some more people got to see it. So I took some…

Knives that just make your jaw drop to the floor.

Every so often I see a knife that just plain floors me. So I thought I'd share two of those with you all.

These knives were made by a scandinavian maker. Now you should know that in scandinavia it's quite normal for someone to make a blade and someone else to turn that blade into a knife by making the handle a sheath for it. These are like that. The blades were made by Mattias Styrefors and everything else by Tommy Alatalo (check out his website…

I'm a celebrity!

I visited the A.G. Russell knife event in Rogers Arkansas at the invitation of Mr. Russell himself.

I had a wonderfull time and took many pictures. And on the second day of the show I was interviewed by Channel 5 news.

The video along with a brief transcript can be found here:…

What's your "holy grail" of knives?

Somewhere on another forum someone wanted to know what my "grail knife" was.

Now for me a grail knife is something that is nigh unobtainable. I don't mean just expensive, (or even expensive) but something that you'd have to seriously fight for to get it.

For me that knife was found when I saw pictures of a collaboration between David Broadwell and Burt Foster.

There's always been something about Subhilt Fighters for me. I've yet to own one but the…

Knife Show Report: The 2012 Dutch Knife Exhibition

Last saturday was the annual DKE in Tiel the Netherlands. This was my fourth time going to it and I always really enjoy it. This year was a little different though because of two reasons:

1) The show was a lot bigger with close to a 100 standholders.

2) It was my first time being there as a standholder.

I had been preparing for this show thouroughly for the past few months and had a (very) full table to show.

(This is me at my table right before the doors…

My first knife in the local store.

So tomorrow I'm taking the first of the knives that I made to the local sporting good store to see if they can sell it.

Here's what it looks like with it's case:

Offcourse I'll have a certificate that's signed and dated accompany it where in the materials and the building process as well as the warrantee are…

My knives might be getting sold at an actual store!

A while back I made a knife with damascus and Camel bone scales. It ended up pretty nice but I'd made some misstakes that made that I figured it wasn't good enough to be sold anytime soon.

(this one)

So I carried it as a personal EDC for a while. And I quite enjoyed it. So one day I showed it to a friend of mine (a very good…

What do you makers do with scrap/leftover material?

I made this from all leftovers (apart from the sheath), and it made me wonder. Does anyone else recycle/re-use/fiddle around with leftovers like I tend to do?
