Really enjoyed your last article in Knife Magazine Bruce - "Flights of Imagination" and the closing statement by Mr. Davis: "If the story is too good to be true..." The word "price" for "story" should be in my thesaurus - well sort of.
Bruce! Knives, like the one on this months cover and those in Artistry in Knives": how much (%) is actually hand crafted and how much is other than hand crafted? Don't get me wrong I know a LOT of work goes into these knives, but maybe some insight on Bladesmiths and what their interpretation of "handmade/hand crafted" encompasses.
As a side note; my wife is and has been for many years a quilter and year after year I hear her bemoan the fact that soooo many quilts are professed to be "hand crafted" when in reality a great amount of the quilt (especially the "quilting" itself) is actually machine sewn.
Bruce- I have sent you a friend request-- I am the resident so-called knife historian and IDer of knives currently on IKC- Would love to communicate with one of the masters of this- Jan can tell you-this is my passion and love- Hope to learn from you-
