I wish I had seen these when I was still diving.  It is the ultimate dive knife

Wow, you pulled the trigger on one of these...!  (Figuratively speaking, of course; the death blow comes with a push of the button here, not the pull of a trigger, I know.)  But while pricey, the WASP is far from being the most expensive knife on the market.  And hopefully you'll never have occasion to use it (but can you imagine if you DID need it but left it home in the safe?? -- oh, what a conundrum!)

I read about the WASP years ago, as I recall it was actually developed to fend off bear attacks -- but like I said, I read that years ago, before my second child was born, so my memory might not be serving me too well.

That's really cool.  I'm guessing you're the only person on iKC that owns one of these...

Yup...these are for the really tough guys that go shark fishing with a knife! The gas freezes the immediate area of the wound so there is little to no blood to attract more sharks, and adds a buoyancy to the corpse that removes it from your vicinity, allowing you to swim away like a crazy person! Last ditch shark defense. Look them up on Youtube. They stab some interesting stuff with those. LOL

??? . WHAT . ???

.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. The blade delivers a dose of compressed CO2 in a similar manner to the way a health professional would use a syringe to inject a dose of medicine .. is this correct ???

.

Now that is unique. And any gas under pressure absorbs heat when it expands ..hence.. the freezing portion.

.

!!! . WOWZA . !!!

This is I believe the most deadliest knife on the market, it is called the WASP. It has a CO2 cartridge in the handle and is a dive knife. When the button is pressed all the CO2 is released into the aggressor freezing the inside and without any blood the aggressor floats to the top. If it is a human the gas freezes the inside with the freezing gas it is death.
