Ha!  I had one of those!  I last saw it when I was about 12 though, no idea what happened to it (bummer to lose it).  I totally forgot about this knife -- thanks for the reminder!

Mine had a much smaller leather sheath though, brown I believe, with some sort of metal accent at the tip of the sheath, & the seam of the sheath running along one of the sides.  There was a narrow belt loop coming up from the sheath, with a leather strap & metal buckle that held the handle right about where the claw started.

Throw back!

I've also seen examples of this same knife made by Hoffritz and Othello during the 1950s!

Here's mine made by Freidrich Plucker - Solingen, 1950s.

That Henry Boker tang stamp is tough to tie down. I know it was common in the U.S. in the 1970s, but it saw a much greater use in the Australian market. The handle is the key on this one, because I think during the rebuilding period after the war, there was a single maker casting that handle and providing it to different cutlery manufacturers in the post-war period. In addition to this Henry Boker, I've seen KORIUM knives advertised with this same handle, and the sample I have was made by Freidrich Plucker.

Ricky,

What does the tang stamp date this one too? Tang

You may be surprised to hear this, but I have a knife almost exactly like that! Mine was made by a different maker, but both are representative of the knives made in Solingen Germany in the years after WW2, during the recovery of the Solingen knife manufacturing industry. Mine was brought home by my Uncle, who was stationed in Germany in the 1950s in the U.S. Army. I have an old magazine ad with pictures of this knife and others of that era. I'll try to round it up and post here.
