Re-handle of knives with celluloid or plastic

Just thought I would ask for suggestions on handle materials.

We are planning on rescue of a few old knives with Celluloid, and plastics that are

starting to show signs of deterioration....

I want to put something on them....That is not what they came with so it would be

well known by anyone who would purchase them in the future that they are not true

to the era....

My Idea at this time is Exotic woods.....

**Would like to hear from the members of their ideas for this switch out.

Thanks in Advance

Sue

well we have used some wood on one, lizard leather, now the ivory....just keeping the look out for different ones not from that era.....keeps down confusion.....

Sue,

We did 2.  One with fossilized stellar sea cow bone and one with rams horn.  They came out great, they were both seahorses.  Donnie rehandled a barndoor that had started to turn with smooth rams horn
