Ah, okay, so not an Ontario.  But it looks great -- & if you got it in Colombia, well, they clearly know what they're doing there when it comes to machetes.  I know Imacasa is based out of El Salvador & Tramontina is based out of Brazil...  Gavilan I think is the name of a Colombian maker?  I just Googled it, yep, Gavilan.  Not that that's the only Colombian maker, but if it's not a tourist piece, there's a good chance it's made by a more reliable manufacturer like Galivan.  And with the fact that the machete has held up for a long time, good chance it's not a tourist piece.

Steve, I bought that in Colombia, South America a long time ago. It is still in good shape and I use it quite a bit. Don't know a brand name on it.
