Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

The time has come to start the discussion on the 2014 iKC knife.

I would again like to shoot for August/Sept delivery date.  Something to remember while we talk about this is that a short run of only 50 or so knives means we need to tie in with a maker that is already running a knife and tweak that one to make it our own.  The reason for this is most SFO's require a minimum order of 250 or more.  Also I would like to keep it less than $125.00 delivered to you.  I have some eyes checking out whats available at a factory or two but always love to hear your ideas.  Remember, this is YOUR knife

Here is a pic of the official annual knives we have done so far

It's very nice but I to would love longer bolsters. The color is outstanding.

Ivars, try going to his site with the ip address 64.14.24.75

Let us know if it works.

Well, Kevin, I understand where you're coming from. But as someone living in Europe my view differes somewhat on the whole "buy american" thing.

Buying american for me is not much different from buying Chinese, Swiss, Italian etc It's all made abroad and as long as the quality, the company and the price are in order...I really couldn't care less about the country of origin.

Ivars, I'll have to check about that IP adress thing. I don't believe I've heard of them banning certain IP adresses. But it might be possible.

Robert,

DITTO!

OK, THIS IS A MOCK!!!!!  and I am terrible at picture manipulation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so we all understand that, LOL.  Here is a proposal we have had.  No cost of $ has happened and we are looking to see if we can reach the 50 goal with a production number

D-2 Tool steel blades
Nickel silver bolsters
Tang stamped Queen Cutlery trade mark, Titusville, PA, PH-D2
Measures 3 1/2 inches closed

no blade etch, no shield.  Laser etched bone (color in pic)

same embossed liners as last years knife

Remember the picture is pretend because the knife does not exist

Oh no.....nononono......

I'll take it for sub $40.....only for sentimental reasons.

I want to express a Thank you again to all of you.  Ivars is right, your time for this project is valuable and I value it more than you can imagine.

A good many of us also belong to other forums, it's ok folks...we know they exist and I go to some of them on occasion.  HOWEVER, how many of them ask what your thoughts are for your knife?  How many of them start the discussion of the annual knife with, is the budgeted amount fitting.  the ones I see come out in the spring and say, this is your knife and this is your price and this is how you order it.

With all of that being siad, that is NOT ME and IT IS NOT iKC.

iKC is a partnership, it is the sum of it's members.  I recognize that I will never make all the members happy with every annual knife but I will always respect your opinions and do my best to produce a quality, affordable knife based on what YOU want.

To those that have expressed a no, please remember this is the first item proposed to me and it is only fair that i present to you what is presented to me and this is NOT.....NOT priced out.  I do not know what the cost would be as of yet.

I think we should, as with any proposal, view it and give our opinion. I think to say, we are in or out, is premature. Lets see and give the system, Miss Jan spoke of, a chance to work.

Jan

I will support whatever knife that is agreed on by whomever agrees on it. I just am thankful that I have had the opportunity to be involved in such a wonderful club! You are doing a great job and providing a fantastic service to the knife collecting community so thank you for all you do!

I'm with Kevin on this.
I'm getting one regardless.

I need a price point and a knife, but to say yes blindly, can't do it.

I understand Max, Blade Show and decisions are certainly on the way
