White River Knives

A group for all things White River Knives!

White River Knife & Tool is a small family company with a passion for making high quality knives and tools in the U.S.A. About White River Knife & Tool:

--Custom Quality matters to us. Which is why we precision grind, hand finish, and leather hone every razor sharp knife we make.

--Customer Satisfaction matters to us. Which is why we guarantee every knife for life. If you are not 100% satisfied with your White River Knife, return it for repair or replacement, free of charge, no questions asked.

--And, American Made matters to us! Every single component – from our steels to the thread in our American made leather sheaths is sourced and produced in the U.S.A.

Michigan’s White River in the Manistee National Forest runs through the family property and is the inspiration for the company name. The bear logo was inspired by a very real and very large pet bear. The cement and steel bear cage still stands on the family property. White River Knife and Tool grinds blades and makes knives for other knife companies. White River Knife and Tool also makes blades and tools for industrial and commercial applications.

Thanks. We're really excited, too. We don't have an air date yet (it could be anytime within the next 12 months ---hopefully sooner!), but as soon as they tell us the How It's Made scheduled date we'll be sure to let everyone know.

At BLADE Show this year, we met up with USA Made Blade, and they are the first of any dealers to carry our newest knife introduction: the double bevel Knucklehead II. If you haven't visited, USA Made Blade is a brick-and-mortar store (a recent topic of iKC discussion) in Salisbury, NC, specializing only in American-made knives, but you can shop their selection online here too. Here's a picture of the new double-bevel skeletonized knife:

Like the popular original Knucklehead (chisel ground) - both the Knucklehead and the Knucklehead II have a bottlecap opener in the handle, making the fixed blade a multi-tool. The Knucklehead II was introduced by popular demand since many customers had been asking for a double bevel alternative to the the original chisel ground design. Since the original design remains popular, both models (original Knucklehead and Knucklehead II) are still available.

    Michael,

Just click on the link embedded in the words White river scout knife in their discussion.  Not listing a price here is on me.  There is no direct selling, they have to take you to their page and White River is very respectful of that ruling :)

Thanks Jan, yes we try not to post "ads", rather sharing product information and inspiration here. I will try to underline links going forward so they're easier for people to find on the forum! You can find all the current pricing if you click on any of the products shown on the White River Knives website or inquire at any of our dealers - brick-and-mortar or online. And thanks for asking, Michael. Since all our knives are 100% made in the USA and guaranteed for life, they're not cheap, nor too expensive --- they're priced "just right."   ;)    Best! - Rachel Y. / White River Knives

An Instagram follower and knife fan @bmcgear gave us permission to show off this very cool knife collection, featuring the White River FIRECRAFT knife in the center of the photo. We thought the image was really cool--especially how it showcases the comparative scale of the knives in this collection!

Next to the FIRECRAFT are the Victorinox Swiss Army Farmer (left) and the Tops Knives .230 Machete (right).

The FIRECRAFT (as with all White River Knives) is made in the U.S.A.

Also when we requested permission to repost this photo on iKC, @bmcgear planned to be joining iKC today as a newcomer - so, welcome to the forum!

Related to the FIRECRAFT series, we recently posted photographs of the premium leather sheath on our website as well. If interested, Check it out in the product page thumbnails!

The White River Knives Knucklehead is an original design by one of our family knife makers, John Cammenga Jr.

The skelotonized blade is chisel ground, s30v steel, and comes with a kydex sheath. Shown here in this "trail mix" with pretzels for fun and scale. :) The stonewash finish features textured steel, often the texture is most apparent on the "reverse" plane of the knife - so no two knives are exactly alike. A lightweight, everyday carry multi-tool, the handle has a bottle opener tab. Also available in the premium black ionbond finish (not shown here).

The White River Knives website now has an Accessories page! You'll find the newest Kydex Sheath design upgrade - available for the Backpacker and Caper knife models. The new sheath is better contoured to accentuate the blade profile. It also comes with a belt loop attachment, fasteners, and a neck lanyard with safety breakaway clasp.

Skelotonized, lightweight, fixed blade neck knives! This year at Blade Show we introduced the new ATK (BAKR-BILT design).  ATK stands for Always There Knife. It's a great every-day carry, a fixed blade that is small and light enough to always be there. The ATK's clever sheath design allows the blade to holster in either direction - no matter which way the blade is facing when you fit it into the Kydex sheath. Our Knucklehead knife is another original White River Knives design that has been around for a while and remains very popular because of the integral bottle opener in the handle and the uniquely shaped chisel ground blade. It also comes with a Kydex sheath.  You can click on the link descriptions in this post or find more info on the In-Stock Page at the website for White River Knives.

Available now on our knives Accessories page, we now offer Bolt-On Handle Scale kits to fit our Backpacker knife. This is a great fasten-it-yourself option for knife users who wish to remove the para-cord wrap and attach a scale. Scales are made of textured G10 material and come in black or orange colors. Here's a photo of the black kit (includes fasteners and Allen wrench. Backpacker knife sold separately):

In 2014 we wrote an article here on iKC about White River Knives being a company to watch.  I just knew great things would come from them.  The then, idea, of a step up filet appealed to the deep water fisherman in both Donnie and I.  I love that they have named the new color Mahi Mahi green as that was the fish we envisioned this knife being best for.  Read more about the newest from them and how this knife will make the fisherman in you want to own one NOW.
