This is one famous knife. First, an American brand. Then the Japanese bought the brand and made them in Japan, and now they have most made in China. I have several, from all factories, and I have yet to find one that was poorly designed or made. I carry a Warthog folder in my EDC bag (a 5.11 tactical PUSH bag) that was made in Japan in 2001; its handle is zytel plastic with no metal liner, so it weighs about half what the new ones do. Some like the new lined ones because they're stronger (well made in China), and I shopped for my vintage Japanese one because it's lighter. The classic USMC fixed blade Bowie style may be the single most beautiful and useful knife ever made. Wish it had a toothpick.
