A place to discuss tools specifically relevant to knife making and restoration. But since Boys (and girls) like toys, we'll likely end up talking about tools in general anyway!
So I may well follow in Donnie's footsteps and graduate some day from kit knives and blanks to real knife making. Also from a Dremel (rotary tool) with workstation (mini drill press), 1 x 30 benchtop single speed belt sander, hand held drill, hand held belt sander and a bunch of hand tools to add some more power tools like a band saw, maybe table saw and others.
Fortunately I met somebody at work who aspires to be a bladesmith and has a forge, mechanical hammer of some sort and some other tools that he is happy to have others come over and share is interests with - just help cover costs of propane for his forge and any other materials used.
I'm still looking out for a band saw as my next addition as posted in a general discussion, looking for smallish bench top because of space constraints but I know that will limit my choices somewhat.
