If you're building a Mikov kit .. just wanted to mention that I managed all threaded fastners in mine .. w/o drilling anything !!!
The pivot can easily be reamed to accept a 0.125 threaded pivot. The tight spot is the solder between the bolsters & the frame.
The backspring & kickspring holes can be tapped to 4-40 w/o drilling. I tapped the left side frame & reamed the right side frame for clearance. They are also hidden under the scales.
The scale holes can be tapped to 2-56 w/o drilling. I added one hole (tapped) on ea frame side @ a pt just in front of the existing kickspring hole .. which I have filled w/ a 4-40 fastner.
Great! someone finally made a Mikov group! I live about 20miles from the Mikov factory in the Northern part of the Czech Republic. Take a look at my page to find a number of Mikov knives that I own. Plus two videos..By the way, the Predator is a really cool knife!
Thanks for the Group Terry, I think the Mikov is a great design, I really like how you can easily replace the spring. I was inspired by Dale to build one from a kit, and used buffalo horn for the handle. Pictures are on this board somewhere, not sure how to link them to these messages. ( hi Dale ! )
Hello Mikov fans, on the 12th of May I visited the Mikov factory in Mikulasovice, Czech Republic. They had the 1st annual Mikov Factory Open House. They also opened up a small, but very insightful museum. Pictures will follow as soon as I go through them. One picture that I will post now is the damascus blade Predator that was used by James Bond in Royal Casino...
id like to welcome Leopold Lacrimosa to the mikov club. thanks for being part of our group. any questions or coments feel free to post them here....WELCOME

Hey Terry .. thanks for the invite here.

I also introduced some Phosphorous-Bronze washers @ the pivot pt.
The threaded fastners allow for dis-assembly to facilitate cleaning & maintenance.
Got half a dozen other projects going @ the same time. But the pic below will give you an idea of the resulting bolt pattern on the scale.
I think I'll like it .. when it's finished.
