Thanks. I did pin the handle. I expoxyed the handle scales on and they well off. Then noticed that I expoxyed the handle to a perfectly smooth surface so nothing gripped ha. So I roughed the handle up with my dremel then reexpoxyed them. I added the pin just for good practice and measure.

A dull saw blade. Didn't you make one, what did you use for the blade?

Thank you for the welcome! How is the season going up there? I been so busy down here working on the knives and web page time has been slim for hunting. My time in service was great I was in a avaition group and and spent a lot time traveling adn competeing in the National Match Course of Fire 200 to 600 yard range with M-14 and Ar-15 Match Grade. I also liked the long line at 1000 yards with both service rifle and magnums. If you can hit those birds you hunts should try competeing in skeet or clays!!!

i used a program i got from school. its called Adobe Illustrator. many professionals use it for many differendt things. its a glorified drawing program, you can edit photos, draw cartoons, make posters, or design company logos, and many more things. i am glad you are happy with the design i came up with. i can send you a full size pic to your personal email if you want, or you can just save the one on your comment.

    God Bless,

    CaptJeff Saylor

hey michael how about this knife....

  • KnifeMaker

    CaptJeff Saylor

i am not sure where they are made, but unless you get it handmade, all the blanks that you find are made in another country. have you looked at my newest album? it has all the blanks i offer.
which knife did you like? the comment on the 14th is a 5" wide skinner, the 16th is a upswept skinner.

sure Michael i would love to make you a knife with file work on it. i am not sure exactly which knife you are speaking of though. i am not sure if you are looking at the album named Knife Blanks, or the one named Knives I Made. once we determine what style of blade you want, we can discuss the handle material and cost. let me know!!

hey Michael thanks for the comment! the Guthook knife that is in my album is a Christmas gift for my Father-in-law. the handle material is deer antler, not bone. i could use deer bone like the one you allready bought from me if you like. the antler (or stag) costs more money than the bone would be.
send me an email and we can discuss what kind of handle, spacer, and end cap material that you would like.

here is the CJS Gut Knife you were talking about.....

  • Katherine Plumer

Thank you Michael! I really appreciate that. :-)
  • J.J. Smith III

If those were the knives that you got for Christmas, Santa sure was good to you.
    Real keepers in that bunch.
  • J.J. Smith III

    Not this year.
Had to but a new refrigerator. The old one caught fire a week before Christmas.
I am working with Jeff on a knife though, a 2" stubby. How do you like the one he did for you?
