Hey Jeremi thanks for joining my group Outdoor Living! Glad to see someone from Arizona onboard, freakin love that State and have been out there many times. Oh dang dude your slide show of all your blades is pretty sweet, got a bunch of sweet stuff.
Really fine looking knives. The test cutting is very interesting. I've had a Randall thrower since 1966 and even tossed it a few times without much success. Had better results with small non-regulation double bit axes. Grete photos!
We made that picture with the earth-moon-earth bounce laser system back in the early days. The colors were changed according to the tiny wobble of the moon during the 58 days it took to send the photo's 1,000,000 pixels at 5 seconds each. One of the guys joked that the last transmission from earth might already been sent -- that picture! So we all went down to Ft. Davis and had some Mexican food and beverages. I kept it and always liked it. Besides, I'm not that good looking up close. Here's one of the first digital images ever taken:
This is the original 1000x1000 was cropped to a 531x709 and contour processing had begun to correct it, here:
and the guys did a more recent one in 2008 they say shows me dissolving back into the universe:
And some of the other guys suggested I ain't nearly as pretty as a pot of my famous habanero frijoles, so y'all can vote on this picture too:
Jeremi, I have a house in Flag that I don't get to visit nearly often enough and only get down to the valley every couple of years, usually for a gun show.
Really like your slideshow; you have some sick knives there. Have you seen Phill Hartsfield's work? He's pretty pricey, but seems to be always sold out. I only have a few pieces of Asian steel, one of which I carry daily(Cold Steel, folding Tanto). I used to throw knives and axes when I was younger and a lot stronger. I would amuse myself by throwing a double bit ax at an old poplar snag and alternate handle up and handle down.

Thanks for the friendship request. Family moved to Berkeley in the 70's, I've been living in Walnut Creek for 10 years and like it out here. Job market sucks but we're surviving...my wife works and I'm picking up work here and there for friends, was in the computer biz for years and in the construction biz before getting injured on the job.
Been collecting knives all my life, it's my main hobby....Joe
