Hello Herb,I think you've answered your own question here. I don't think any American Knife Manufacturer uses epoxy in the construction of a slip joint knife. The knife is held together by the pins. I have heard of some custom makers using epoxy on the handle slabs of fixed blade knives. I would venture to say Queen Cutlery never put epoxy in the butt of a Mountain Man! I would suggest that anyone should be very careful trying to put anything in a Mountain Mans butt. The results could be quite different then the desired effect.
