Favorite Kind of Knives
I like old scout knives and other traditional folding knives. I also like knives from the early American era and on to old west types.
About Me
I have been married 34 years, and have 6 kids and 2 grandchildren. Two of our kids live at home still. I am a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant having graduated with a degree in that field in 2008 after the paper mill I was working at closed down. Before that I had worked in printing and paper since high school. It's a much different career, but helping people to get well after an injury, or stroke etc is very rewarding.
Interests
I am interested in knifemaking, and have read a lot about about it and blacksmithing, but have limited actual experience. I have an anvil and made one of Wayne Goddards' "one brick "forges to mangle a little bit of steel and look forward to more!
Other Hobbies
I like to be outside, and do things with my family, fishing, and still plan to learn the saxophone. I like motorcycles, cars, and tractors, and old stuff that can be fixed up.

Jim, my father was at Westvaco for 40 years.... He left there as Chief Ellectrical Engineer...Under his watch was Tony Foster the Case knife Gury....See Case knife club - the topic about Corelon Case knives and read down to Jim Prather's comments on Tony....

Tony was a draftman but he was th type personality tat when h did something he did it right.... When he got into Case knives, he went through their achives and learned wel before published price guide what patterns were scarce.... He litterally use his intelectual poperty to become the Waren Bufffett of Case knives..

Paper mills make great starting points!

    Firearms Refresher Course......
“A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.”—George Washington

. Free men do not ask permission to bear arms.
. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.
. Only a government that is afraid of its citizens tries to control them.
. Gun control is not about guns; it’s about control.
. You only have the rights you are willing to fight for.
Assault is a behavior, not a device.
