Thanks for the welcome.  I wish I knew then what I know now, I'd sure have a lot more knives.  I imagine everyone can say that.  When I was heavy into the blacksmithing hobby I knew some guys who were really getting good at Damascus Knives.  Those are the beauties of knives, to me.

    Regards,

    EKW

Thanks Steve,  Looking forward to spending some time on the site. I'm always happy to answer questions on vintage switchblades if anyone has them, as well as always looking to learn more about them myself! I'm currently working on my second book on the subject.    Mark

Hay Steve, nice photo of your dogs... No, no cake.  Trying to finish up a couple bowies today. Got wrapped up in trying to finish my novel yesterday,  " Purple Rains ". It's  about an early western adventure with some humor, interesting Indian encounters, & treasure hunting.  Oh ya, and some unsuspecting romance. It takes place when the west was wide open for adventure.  ( 1829 - 1843 )  277 page feel good read.  Any way, It's Easy to keep plenty busy. Got to get back to knife making.  Never a dull moment around here!  Lol, Take care Steve & thanks for your comment.

  • Frans van Niekerk

Thanks Manx, I will supply the Rum, you may bring the cake!

Hi, Manx!  Thanks for your birthday greetings.  This would have been a non-event day except that I've decided to start playing electric guitar again after 20 yrs.  So, thanks to Amazon & eBay, I now have a new guitar (Epiphone SG) & 4 different amplifiers (3 of them Fenders) to play with.  Somewhere between my quitting & my current obsession they made big changes to amps -- They're computerized now!  Might have to go back to college to learn how to use these things, lol!

  • Howard P Reynolds

Thanks, Steve.  Yes, I hope I get a knife for my birthday, too!

  • John G Cable

Thanks for the BDay wishes,  Have a Great Day yourself!

  • Donald Lee Hargrove

Hey, Manx!  I know that's right.  I bought a portable Fender Mustang Mini amp which allows you to set up your sounds & store them into 3 banks of 8 selections each.  (The bigger 4 Mustangs allow more.)  You can set your selection of amp, the settings to make that amp, & finally an effect (mine holds 12) to go with it.

They also provide free software called FUSE to display your parameters on your computer, change them, store them, download them, & even trade them with other Users Group members.  They've even got prerecorded riffs for you to practice with.  And a free AC-adaptor for when you don't want to depend on batteries.  And a headphone out.  And an Mpeg in.  And a built-in tuner to boot.

Like a big Swiss Army Knife this is a toy extraordinare.  I've even been considering the big foot "pedal" controller -- so I can change settings & presettings with my toes, lol.  My only concern is that we're going to hear a lot of lazy guitar players using only 1 or 2 favorite preprogrammed sounds.  Like Jimi Hendrix using the same pedal over & over again.

Thank-you for the welcome.  New to computers and to forums so a lot of my stuff never makes it to its intended target and I am still trying to learn how to take photo with iPad send to computer, size and post.  Max at Case Forum recommended your site and I finally was able to figure out how to join on computer.  I will get the hang of it someday, just don't quit trying seems to work for me, however slowly.  Look forward to exploring the site, I'll ask Max for some pointers.  God Bless!!!  Walt

Steve: just wanted to say thanks. Should be a great day. Don’t have to wash dishes, moe the lawn, take the garbage out, or make the bed. I can Knapp, go fishing, bottle hunting or just set and soak up some sunshine. Thanks to all and to all have as good a day as i do.

Good evening Manx.  Enjoyed your E-mail several days ago.  Chose to ask you and tap you for a bit of info.

I have a couple knifes that I came across years ago.  I do not know their origin.  I would like to find the makers.  Could you give me  the acceptable way for IKC so I can show a pic or two?

  • Brad T.

What'd I do? I must have commented a lot. Because I haven't contributed much content recently. I will take the accolades whenever I can get them. Thanks!!
