Next time you drop in check out the GE Collector Group. It's one of the most popular Groups here.

I am SO glad you're here! This place would not be complete without a Case expert. And if anybody is, you are. But... that's coming from your biggest fan, so I don't know how much credence you can put in it.

This is claimed to be below a 1940 one year... see for yourself the claims.... but right now 23 bids $550 with 2 days left...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/CASE-FOLDER-HUNTING-KNIFE-1940-GENUINE-STAG-WIT...
MADE ONE YEAR ONLY . THIS CASE KNIFE WHEN FOLDED HAS A 2 3/4" BLADE AND WHEN OPENED UP A 6" STICKER . AS YOU CAN IT HAS PERFECTLY MATCHED BEAUTIFUL STAG HANDLES. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL SHINE ON THE HANDLES THAT ARE PERFECT WITH NO CRACKS OR EVEN SPACE BETWEEN LINER AND STAG. IT LOOKS LIKE THE FRONT EDGE IS THE ORIG. CASE EDGE AND THE BACK HAS BEEN SHARPENED SLIGHTLY. IF IT WERE A GUN I GUESS YOU WOULD GRADE IT IN THE HIGH 90s PERCENTAGE. INFO 619 715 0155

Now these things have sprouted up.. Three in the last week... one went for $132+++ it still had two days to bid then.... 1998 100 produced so claimed....

The knife below - Single blade stag handle _ Case via the photos says they know nothing of that knife.... they refrained from using the word forgery but without any more documentation (which there was not any from the listing on eBay) they were not aware of a prototype or production knife that reassembles it. That's the three photos of the single "thrust" knife. Sadly 1 day or more befoere the final bidding the going bid then was $550.00........

    Steve - your wisdom sir,

I apologies if I am imposing but this has me more than scratching my head for these reason's.....

    1. SUCH knives have never even like this one of one have sold higher than true vintage production knives I guess because locating a true 5488 in Mint Bradford or even Case xx is more of a challenge to the collector than grabbing this. I think....

    2. But this is a CASE, likely never to ever be reproduced.

    3. Upside, rate off appreciation (by when will it see it's value realized)

$. As for the collector is this a novelty Case knife or a piece one would reach for it able to get..

Can you see how normal scarcity it askew here but on the other hand it is a rare a rear can get, but by not being production reduce it to a neat find - cute but no cigar

This letter comes with this fantastic knife!

By the way.... the straight blade bellow with STAG handles, Case Clains no knowlege os it as a prototype or production model of any of there patters from any of their companies at anytime..... She refraned from the word counterfit.

When I last saw it on it had 3 days and was already at $550..... SAD

I am a new CASE collector.  I am retired so I  have to find CASE bargains.  Most of my purchases  have been unused/ new knives.  Does your book collecting CASE knives cover newer knives.  Can you recommend a place to buy the book.
