Favorite Kind of Knives: My favorite knife is the Case 54 Trapper pattern, but I also have some good German brands in bone and stag. Bone and stag are the only handle materials I care for.

About Me: I live on a farm. I am a retired state Probation and Parole Officer. In retirement, I fish, hunt, and do conservation, mostly tree planting work on my farms. I write a weekly outdoor column for the local newspaper and am the author of three books, all collections of lyric essays and short rural and outdoor themed fiction. I am married and have two grown sons. I help one of them operate his business, a gym and fitness center.
Interests: Hunting squirrels, wild turkey, deer, small game and waterfowl; firearms (not really a collector), collecting traditional style pocket knives (own 31 stag Case 54's). I am a Sunday School teacher and the unofficial pastor of a small church.
Other Hobbies: British history, American Civil War, reading Stephen Hunter, Tom Clancy, and John Sanford fiction. Vegetable gardening.
