I'm a pretty extroverted and optimistic person, although sometimes I wish I would be more willing to throw myself out there when the situation calls for it. I feel that I'm very lucky to have lived in so many places, to have met so many interesting people and thus have experienced so many changes in my life. I like to live each day to the fullest, and enjoy whatever I can, whenever I can.
I think its hard for Asian-Americans, especially the Chinese-Americans who are born in America or born in China, but came to America very young, to feel completely socially adapted to both the Chinese AND the American society. Getting past the language barrier is one of the hardest and most basic steps to accomplish, a step that I am still struggling to achieve. Yet once you are adapted to these environments and you are able to co-exist in both worlds, it is an awesome feeling :)
I believe that this generation of Asian-Americans is able to accomplish so much and make great changes in the world, as well as pave the way for future generations, just like how our parents did it for us. No matter what path we take, we must stay true to our origins and identities and stand up for the people we care.
