About Me
I am a Knife Designer, Knife Maker. I started making knives in1983. I am highly interested in Western American History and I studied the knife makers of the early years of our country. For instance, Russel of Green River Works used spring steel similar to hi-carbon and 5160 steels used today in factory cutting tools. By 1843 he and New England Knife Works had sent over 50,000 working knives westward on wagon trains in 50-gallon wooden drums for settlers, mountain men, buffalo skinners, and traders.

I have a desire to make knive swith the same quality they did back then. So I went to work on my first knife, a replica of the knife made by Mr. Black in Arkansas for James Bowie. After working 2 weeks, off and on, I finished the piece and that inspired me to continue in the trade I love so much. Since then I have worked hard to make quality knives for others to enjoy as I do. I still have that fisrt knife I made. I am now focusing my attention and talent on making collector's and art knives of unusual quality.

I live near Branson, Missouri. I have made custom knives for some famous musicians and vocalists like Ronnie Prophet, Rodney Dillard, and Leroy New, to mention a few.

Of late I have been asked to make the knives from the book KnorraSky for Author RA Knowlton. This series of knive can be viewed at www.KnorraSky.com.

I am also an author with two books published. See them on my site www.durrknives.com
